How many incoming angels with bowls of blood will be shot down by the US air force?
Imaging the apocalypse with current military technology. I am thinking the angels haven't a prayer. This question presumes things 100% not in evidence 1) existence of angels, and 2) the apocalypse.

- First of all there is absolutely no evidence that any deity ever existed anywhere. The bible was written by men to control other men plain and simple. This is the twenty first century and humanity has to pull itself together and resist believing in religious mythology of all kinds and start creating a world based on science to benefit all of us. Planet Earth is beautiful as it is and we should stop wasting our human energy by praying to imaginary gods and killing each other over different religious points of view. Every time we hear someone talking about gods, heaven, hell or how humanity must be saved from eternal damnation because some woman named Eve was talking to a serpent regarding apples and he convinced her to take a bite is shear nonsense. If there really was an omnipotent deity and it wanted humanity to understand what was wished it would not need to go through third party preachers, bible codes and multiple religions to get the point across. So let's get real, put a damper on all this imaginary religious mysticism and start enjoying the beautiful universe and wonderful life we already have right here on earth.
- Someone needs some Sarcasm Goggles.
- You underestimate the power of an angel.
- given the track record of the missile sheild, None
- With the USAF's current record of bombing it's own allies - very few!
- Lol. Bowls of Blood. To be honest I think the Angels will win. I mean they aren't really people, they are super human and can do all sorts of crazy sh*t. I don't think a bunch of dudes with missiles and airplanes are any match for that sort of thing. Good thing angels don't exist and America can still be #1, right?
- none since angels are spiritual beings not harmed by physical weapons
- f*ck the air force. i have a 9mm, a 22, a 12 gauge and i'm pretty sure i still have my old .410 somewhere in addition to a red ryder bb gun. if any of them start dive--bombing my pace, i guarantee you they don't have a prayer and this answer presumes 100% of things in evidence - 1) that i will defend my home against thugs and blood-bowl bearing avenging angels, and 2) i am a True Southern Girl and deadly f*cking accurate
- Well if my tax dollars are being spent on it they better be shooting down some f!@king angels
- Your question makes TWO MORE assumptions, that you apparently haven't noticed: 3) that the Book of Revelation is to be interpreted completely literally (a spurious theological idea that is only about 150 years old); and 4) that angels are fully corporeal beings, subject to all the physical laws of this universe, and not more along the lines of some of the bullet-evading characters in "The Matrix." If you argue that the Book of Revelation, and the apocalypse it describes, are absurd if taken literally--then you are in good Christian company. You will find little disagreement among the faculty of Yale Divinity School (for example), or of Harvard Divinity School either, or of Union Theological Seminary (in New York City). And Martin Luther at one point wanted to take the Book of Revelation out of the Bible, because he figured that any book so confusing to people couldn't possibly be divinely inspired. So your question hardly discredits Christianity, since very many Christians--including the Catholic Church, the largest Christian organization in the world--are essentially in agreement with you about the nature of the apocalypse: " . . . it is evident that the Seer was influenced by the prophecies of Daniel more than by any other book. Daniel was written with the object of comforting the Jews under the cruel persecution of [the Greek conqueror] Antiochus Epiphanes. The Seer in the Apocalypse had a similar purpose. The Christians were fiercely persecuted in the reign of [the Roman emperor] Domitian." "The Seer has marked the beast with the number 666. . . . We have here an instance of Jewish gematria. Its object is to conceal a name by substituting for it a cipher of equal numerical value to the letters composing it. . . . Many scholars have come to the conclusion that Nero is meant. For when the name 'Nero Caesar' is spelled with Hebrew letters, it yields the cipher 666." --two excerpts from The Catholic Encyclopedia online. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01594b.htm
